We have an appointments system – appointments are for 10 minutes – If you have more than one problem you may feel you need to ask for a double appointment. Urgent and non-urgent appointments may be arranged by telephone or in person.
Non urgent medical advice
For any non urgent medical advice you could telephone 111 this service is available 24/7
Please telephone between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday - Friday for results of tests requested by your doctor. The doctor or nurse will advise you when a result should be available and the receptionist will pass the doctor’s comments on to you.
Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or call to let us know.
Did not attend their GP or Nurse appointments
In the month of October 42 patients failed to attend their appointment with their doctor and 72 patient did not attend their booked appointment with the practice nurse. Please make sure you telephone the surgery if you are unable to make your appointment, these could have been used by someone else.

The Nurse Practitioner and our Practice Nurses are available for consultation by appointment and are fully trained to deal with a variety of problems including the care of diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertension, annual Pill and HRT checks. They carry out many practical procedures including injections, vaccinations, ear syringing (in the surgery only), smear tests, hearing tests and ECG’s (electrocardiograph). They are also the mainstay of our health promotion work; health education and prevention of disease forms a large part of their work. They carry out Well Person health checks and give advice on healthy lifestyles and diet. There is a ‘stop smoking’ clinic available by arrangement with the Nurses. Elderly patients are offered yearly health screening and advice is available on any health topic of concern.

We have a Phlebotomist available Monday – Friday 8.30am – 12 mid-day to take blood for blood tests requested by the Doctors or Nurses. The Phlebotomist is based in Patrick Stead Hospital. If they are extremely busy they may have to close the doors early. An alternative places to go is Beccles Hospital they are open 8.30-12.00 Monday to Friday.
We have 18 full and part-time staff available for general advice and assistance, who also make all the appointments. All staff have been fully trained to carry out our Practice procedures instigated by the Partners and management. Please ask should you need any help - our staff will be pleased to assist.
Our Reception Office Manager will be able to help you with a great deal of information and can also be helpful if you have a complaint.
Helen is our leads secretary and leads a team of three other Medical Secretaries.
All Dispensary staff have been fully trained to carry out our Practice procedures instigated by the Partners and management. Please ask should you need any help. They all have NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services.
